Welcome to the 1947 Club website
The 1947 Club was established in 1955. The simple objectives of our Club are to enable surveyors to support one another, provide social activities and mentor the younger members of our profession. After over 60 years the ethos of the 1947 Club remains exactly the same. The 1947 Club is run by members for its members, and it not only provides a very valuable service to our industry, it is also a lot of fun!
For a number of years we have provided CPD events to enable surveyors to meet the RICS requirements for Continuing Professional Development. These are very cost effective, truly relevant, and are very well regarded by our members and the broader audience. We are exclusively inclusive, and very proud of that.
Of equal importance, we arrange and host a series of professional networking events where members can enjoy meeting with old friends and professional colleagues and making new ones. Social events include the bi-monthly lunch and our annual wine tasting. Our committee are always interested in hearing from members about what other events, social or otherwise, would be of interest.
We continue to support Matrics in a variety of ways including mentoring, working with the Matrics committee and attending a variety of Matrics events. Each year we also provide a number of student prizes to Northumbria University.
I hope the above provides you with a flavour of what the 1947 Club is about. Your organisation will only continue to be successful if it is supported by you, its members, so I do hope you will continue to attend the events, and be part of what is a very worthwhile and enjoyable cause.
Please do contact me or any of the committee if you have any ideas about what other things the 1947 Club could offer.
I am very proud to be your Chairman.
Adam Serfontein, Chairman
