Welcome to the 1947 Club website
The 1947 Club, established in 1955, brought together surveyors to support one another, provide social activities and mentor the younger members of the profession. The years may have past but the ethos of the 1947 Club remains the same. It continues to be an organisation run by members for its members.
In response to recent requests from its membership it currently provides CPD events to enable members to meet the RICS requirements on ongoing professional development. Just as importantly it provides a series of social events where members can get together over good food and wine and catch up with old friends and make new ones. Social events include the bi-monthly lunch and the annual wine tasting. Members of the committee are always interested in hearing from members about what other events, social or otherwise, that would be of interest.
Members continue to support Matrics in a variety of ways including mentoring, working with the Matrics committee and attending a variety of Matrics events.
The 1947 Club also provide a number of student prizes to The University of Northumbria at Newcastle.
I hope the above provides you with a flavour of what the 1947 Club is about. It is, however, your organisation and will only continue to be successful if it is supported by you, its members, so I do hope you will continue to attend the events.
Please do contact me or the other members of the committee if you have any ideas about what other things the 1947 Club could offer.
