1947 club

So what is the purpose and main activities of the 1947 Club?

The 1947 Club was established in 1955. The simple objectives of our Club are to enable surveyors to support one another, provide CPD and social activities and mentor the younger members of the surveying profession. It not only provides a very valuable and flexible service to our North East property sector on a number of levels but we also like to have some fun when we can!

For a number of years, we have provided CPD events to enable surveyors to meet the RICS requirements for Continuing Professional Development. These are very cost effective, truly relevant, and are very well regarded by our Members and the broader audience. We are exclusively inclusive, and very proud of that!

We continue to support North East Matrics/1947 Club Next Generation in a variety of ways including mentoring, working with their Committee and supporting/attending a number of their events. We are also working in a tripartite arrangement with Northumbria University and North East Matrics/1947 Club Next Generation to support and assist surveying students where we can via the Course Leaders and also the Degree Apprenticeship Scheme.

We hope the above provides you with a flavour of what the 1947 Club is all about. The 1947 Club will continue to be successful only if it is supported by you, its members, so we do hope you will continue to attend our events and be part of what is a very worthwhile and enjoyable cause.

Please do contact the Committee if you have any ideas about what other things the 1947 Club could or should be offering at this time.
